In August, Business Roundtable released a new Statement on the Purpose of a Corporation. Signed by 181 CEOs, including American Express, Amazon, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and the Progressive Company, these executives affirm to lead their companies for the benefit of ALL stakeholders (yes, stakeholders), including customers, employees, suppliers, communities and shareholders. A few days ago, by chance, I met Jonathan Schultz, co-founder and managing principal of the highly regarded New Jersey – based real estate investment and property services firm Onyx Equities.
